We created Happy Earth Laundry Soap Concentrate a few years ago while we had three teenagers (two boys!) and a puppy at home. If it can make that laundry smell good, it can handles almost anything. Each 2 oz/ 56 g container makes up one gallon of liquid laundry detergent. Just mix it up at home in your own one gallon jug and grab a refill when you need it.

Available in unscented, lavender, lemongrass, or your favorite custom scent. Just drop us a note to let us know what scent you would like (essential oils only), and we’ll do our best to make it happen.

Ingredients: coconut oil, water, olive oil, sodium hydroxide, sodium carbonate, sodium borate. *If scented, contains essential oils corresponding to scent.

Directions: Add 14 cups of warm water to a 1 gallon container and set aside. Remove lid of concentrate and add water to fill line. Stir, then microwave at 70% power 30 seconds at a time, stirring, until dissolved. Alternatively, pour concentrate plus 2 cups of water into a small pot and heat on low while gently stirring until dissolved. Add dissolved concentrate to the 1 gallon container, cap tightly, and shake.

To use: Shake, then add 1/4 cup per load for HE washing machines. 1/2 cup per load for non-HE. *May not be suitable for delicate fabrics.

Add 1/4 Cup of white vinegar to your laundry as a fabric softener to to remove any residual laundry soap. You can even infuse your vinegar with your favorite essential oil or herb! We like to pop a sprig of lavender or eucalyptus into ours.
